Our purpose here is to:
so that together we will
WORSHIP THE LORD
What were the first Christians devoted to?
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship,
to the breaking of bread and to prayer."
What do these things mean?
Apostles’ teaching: Any form of teaching that is in accordance with what God’s Word says and is to the extension of His Kingdom.
Fellowship: See how the Believers had all things in common. They sought to meet one another’s needs.
Breaking of Bread: Initially the sharing of food and remembering the Lord especially during the meal. Later this was not so much “a love feast”, more a solemn remembrance.
Prayers: This was the unifying prayerhouse.
